Clock Reaction

In a clock reaction, the time taken for a fixed amount of product (usually coloured e.g. sulfur or iodine) to form is measured. The speed of reaction is inversely proportional to the time taken.

Volume of Gas

Speed of reaction can also be determined by measuring the volume of gas produced over time. The volume of gas may be measured using a gas syringe or using displacement of water.
